This review is from: Vs. Reality (#1 in The Vs. Reality Series) (Kindle Edition) This was a fun book to read. The characters are believable in that they are not so pure that we cannot relate to them. The dialog is well written, believable, and you can "hear" the different characters when they speak. The narrative flows easily from one chapter to the next. Blake clearly has a talent for storytelling and her clean, dramatic, description brings the plot to life.
The book really does have a comic book style to it but this story could easily adapt to any format. I was able see these scenes as a live action or animated movie just as easily as I could see them drawn into comic book cells. I found myself imagining the story in several different formats as I read.
Blake sets up the next novel perfectly; providing a sense of finality by leaving only a couple of threads untied, while showing us the end of a new ball of string that sadly sits just out of reach. I am very much looking forward to reading #2, this series has huge potential.
Blake used a quote from my review on her website here, which, I have to admit I find to be pretty cool.
I honestly cannot wait for the next book and I hope for the best for Blake. She has a lot of talent, and I love it when writers get what they deserve. For good or for ill. Blake deserves a lot of credit for a unique story line and a great voice. She is so easy to read, and funny to boot.
I still think she needs to turn this into a screenplay. The way she writes just screams SCREENPLAY.
